The Football Association of Hong Kong, China receives funding from the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau (CSTB) to continue to launch the ‘Scholarship for Professional Players’ this season. The Scholarship provides active and retired players with a maximum amount of $42,100 per year (for up to four years), to subsidize the selected players to study for local Certificate / Diploma / Degree Programmes or coaching courses offered by dedicated football associations. The scheme aims to alleviate the financial burden of professional footballers, so as to attract more talented players to engage in professional football. The players can also be better prepared for their career development after retirement.
