Hong Kong Representative Team preparing for World Cup Qualifiers home games


The Hong Kong Representative Team has been training and preparing for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 & AFC Asian Cup 2023 Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 2 matches, which would be held at 8pm on 14 November (Thursday) and 19 November (Tuesday) against Bahrain and Cambodia at Hong Kong Stadium. During this preparation period, the coaches and players from the Hong Kong Representative Team went to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for a visit with a group of over 10 children, in order to bring positive energy into their community.

To reach and engage more people, Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) has been striving to promote football in different communities and partnering with various organizations to organize fun football sessions. Recently HKFA has been collaborating with the Hospital Authority to arrange a visit to Tseung Kwan O Hospital by the Hong Kong Representative Team. Participants include Head Coach Mr. Mixu Paatelainen, Administrative Manager Mr. Liu Chun Fai, Coach Mr. Yu Siu Chee of Hong Kong Representative Team, players Mr. Helio Jose De Souza Goncalves, Mr. Ha James Stephen Gee, Mr. Tan Chun Lok, Mr. Huang Yang, and Mr. Yapp Hung Fai. After visiting the children ward, the Hong Kong Representative Team members led the children for some fun football games and gave limited edition souvenirs to them, to show support and encouragement.

Moreover, Mr. Jaimes Anthony McKee, a former player of the Hong Kong Representative Team announced his retirement earlier, which concluded his fourteen-year career as professional football player. To express our gratitude and appreciation for McKee’s dedication to Hong Kong football in the past, HKFA will arrange a farewell ceremony during the match on 19 November. At halftime break on that night, HKFA will invite football legend Mr. Anto Grabo to present a tailor-made souvenir to McKee, sending him best wishes in his retirement and wishing him a new and wonderful chapter, together with the audience at the stadium.

Hong Kong Team 2018/20 Nike Jerseys, sportswear and limited-edition premiums will be available for purchase on-site at the match day on 14 and 19 November. On 14 November, polo shirts will be on sale for $369 in Player version (red) and Coach version (grey) and Training Jersey Player version in orange will be on sale for $299. On 19 November, Nike N98 red jacket will be on sale for $699, while the training jacket and black trousers will be on sale for $699 and $499 and Training Jersey Coach version in grey will be on sale for $299. During these two matches, Home Jersey (red) will be on sale for $599, while stock lasts.

In addition, HKFA collaborated with Lee Kung Man Knitting Factory (HK) Ltd, a local clothing brand with a long history, to launch 4 styles of limited-edition tee with Hong Kong team logos from the 60s. Each style of tee will be on sale at one of the four upcoming World Cup Qualifiers matches, for $338 each, until sold out. 200 Tee of each style will be available and each tee will come with a package box with a number indicating the sequence of limited-edition.  Following the launch of white tee in September, two more versions of Hong Kong Team crossover Lee Kung Man limited-edition tee in black and blue grey will be for sale on 14 November and 19 November respectively.

From the match venue on 14 November, the public could purchase 3 styles of cheering tees, in red, grey and pink color, for $168 each.  Also, there will be a new style of “HKAddOil” cheering towel for sale for $129. All items are available while stock lasts.

In addition, HKFA received the support from Shell Hong Kong Limited (Shell), in order to cheer the Hong Kong Football Team for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Shell will provide various offer to football fans. With the ticket stub of 14 November or 19 November match, fans could redeem coupons of a total value of $480 gasoline and convenience store purchases in any Shell station in Hong Kong.

Tickets redemption service would not be provided at the stadium for single tickets and package tickets. HKFA expects ticket purchasing services would be in high demand on matchday and advises the football fans to purchase and redeem the tickets through Cityline in advanced, in order to avoid waiting time and ensure a smooth admission process.
