BC Rangers had an early opportunity just three minutes into the game when Lau Chi Lok received a sublime pass from Ibrahim and unleashed a long-range strike that sailed over the crossbar.
In a swift response, Kitchee launched their own offensive after just a minute. Charlie Scott, from a distance of over 30 yards, fired a powerful right-footed shot, but the goalkeeper made an acrobatic save to push the ball out for a corner.
Gaining momentum, Kitchee started to dominate proceedings. Law Tsz Chun received a pass from Charlie Scott and delivered a pinpoint cross from the right flank. Unfortunately, Mikael Burkatt's header narrowly missed the target.
