Western & Central wasted no time and tested the Eastern District goal early in the game. Barely a minute after the opening whistle, Western & Central’s Sham, Yiu Yeung hit the crossbar from close-range.
Western & Central busted the game open on the 11th minute, as Teles Veloso David Carlos connected with a teammate’s corner-kick delivery and headed the ball home. It was now 1:0 for Western & Central.
Eastern District tried to get involve as Chow, Ka Wa’s tight-angle shot was kicked away by Central & Western goalkeeper Chan Kun Sun.
Just before the end of the first half, Central & Western’s Teles Veloso David Carlos unleashed a cracking shot while under pressure from Eastern District defenders but smashed the ball over the crossbar.
The first half completed with Central & Western enjoying a 1:0 lead over Eastern District.
Central & Western snatched a quick goal after the game resumed, as Teles Veloso David Carlos found himself on the receiving end of a teammate’s delivery and tucked the ball home through a left-footer. It was now 2:0 for Central & Western.
Eastern District fought hard trying to get on the scoreboard but came up short.
Deep in stoppage time, Eastern District’s Chan Siu-ki’s dangerous header was brilliantly saved by Central & Western goalkeeper Chan Kun Sun.
The 2:0 score stood all the way towards the final whistle, as Central & Western shutout Eastern District in the FA Cup (Junior Division) semi-final.
