Today, The Football Association of Hong Kong, China (HKFA) is delighted to confirm further sponsorship from Wofoo Social Enterprises, who has generously committed a total of HK$1.2 million in the coming 3 years to support of the development of women’s football in Hong Kong.

The Football Association of Hong Kong, China works tirelessly to promote the development of women’s football. HKFA has been able to implement a variety of related programs thanks to generous support from Wofoo Social Enterprises since 2015, which include the Hong Kong, China Women’s Football Representative Team and the “Wofoo School Girls’ Football Development Program.” The program aims to expose more children to football in schools through different initiatives. These have included setting up girls’ teams within schools, and introducing more girls’ competitions, as well as engaging with schools to enhance their awareness of the positive impact of sport. The joint efforts of HKFA and Wofoo Social Enterprises have been a big success and so far, over 150 schools and 12,000 primary and secondary students have benefitted from the program.

Mr. Fok Kai Shan, JP, Chairman of The Football Association of Hong Kong, China, remarked, “We’ve been appreciated for Wofoo Social Enterprises’ support of the women’s football over the years. Wofoo Social Enterprise will continue to support and promote the development of women’s football in Hong Kong in the next three years, and the amount of sponsorship has been increased form HK$750,000 in the last three years to HK$1.2 million. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Wofoo Social Enterprise for its past and future support.

Dr. Joseph Lee, GBS, Ostj, JP, President of Wofoo Social Enterprises, said, “Sports are beneficial to physical and mental health, as well as an essential part of good character building, so we have always been fully supportive of the development of sports in Hong Kong. We hope that different groups in society will be able to shine on the sports field and in their life journeys through football training.

Ms. Daisy Mok, Board of The Football Association of Hong Kong, China, and Chairman of Women’s Football Committee, added, “The support from Wofoo Social Enterprise is very meaningful to our women’s football team, as it provides a better training environment, materials and equipment for the team players. One of the highlights of this sponsorship is the “Wofoo School Girls’ Football Development Program,” which brings football to schools and exposes more potential students to football, helping to inspire interest and expand the population of women’s football in Hong Kong

Recently, there has been rapid growth in women’s football around the world and it seems its popularity is sure to keep rising. Driven by the same vision, The Football Association of Hong Kong, China and Wofoo Social Enterprises will work hard in hand to promote women’s football.
