Mongolia met Hong Kong, China at Mong Kok Stadium on Sunday evening (8th December) for the EAFF E-1 Football Championship Preliminary Competition 2024 (Group B) fixture. Hong Kong, China beat Mongolia by 3:0.
The hosts dominated proceedings from the outset, with Walter Junior testing the Mongolian defense early, heading over from Everton Camargo’s pinpoint corner in the 4th minute. The home side maintained their attacking momentum, and their persistence paid dividends in the 35th minute. A moment of brilliance from Everton Camargo saw him pick out the unmarked Wong Wai in the danger area, who made no mistake in firing past the keeper to double the advantage.
Despite another gilt-edged opportunity for Matthew Orr before the interval, the scoreline remained 2:0 at the break.

Mongolia showed brief signs of life when Munkh-Orgil Orkhon’s header from a set-piece was expertly gathered by the goalkeeper Yapp Hung Fai. The hosts put the result beyond doubt on the hour mark as Everton Camargo turned provider once again, his precise cross finding Nicholas Benavides at the far post who made no mistake with his header to make it 3:0. The onslaught continued with Everton Camargo, latching onto Ngan Cheuk Pan's defense-splitting pass, forcing another save, while Chan Siu Kwan Philip’s late volley in a goalmouth scramble failed to add to the scoreline.
The final whistle confirmed Hong Kong,China’s dominant display and crucial three points by a 3:0 victory.
