HKFC host BC Rangers at HKFC Football Ground on sunday afternoon for the BOC Life Hong Kong Premier fixture of the day, BC Rangers defected HKFC by 3:0 and claimed three points.
BC Rangers displayed an aggressive and attacking style of play after the opening whistle. In the 11th minute, BC Rangers forward Lau Chi Lok was brought down by Lau Hok Ming in the penalty area, resulting in a penalty kick for BC Rangers. Kanda Yumemi confidently stepped up and converted the spot-kick, opening the scoring at 1:0. Just four minutes later, BC Rangers extended their lead as an unmarked Li Ngan Hoi headed in a corner-kick delivery from Kanda Yumemi on the right-hand side, making it 2:0. In the 22nd minute, Kanda Yumemi attempted a powerful strike from outside the box, but the goalkeeper managed to make the save. Towards the end of the first half, Hong Kong Football Club showed signs of improvement in their attacking play. In the 36th minute, Liu Hok-ming's long-range effort narrowly missed the target. Then, in the 39th minute, a cross from Gustao Henrique found Thaigo Lima Da Silva in the penalty area, but his shot lacked the necessary power to trouble the goalkeeper. At halftime, BC Rangers held a comfortable two-goal advantage.
The second half started with Hong Kong Football Club displaying a better performance and creating numerous scoring chances. In the 50th minute, Liu Hok-ming delivered a cross from the right, but Thaigo Lima Da Silva's header went over the bar. Three minutes later, Jordan Brown's free-kick from the left found Gustao Henrique, who directed a glancing header wide of the goal.
However, BC Rangers regained control of the match and started to assert their dominance once again. In the 56th minute, Ibrahim played a pass to Kanda Yumemi inside the penalty area, but his shot went over the crossbar. In the 59th minute, Hong Kong Football Club launched a spirited attack as Jordan Brown intercepted a mispass from Ibrahim. He then dribbled past the defender on the left and unleashed a shot from a tight angle, only to find the side netting.
It took until the 65th minute for BC Rangers to further widen the gap. Kanda Yumemi's corner kick from the left was met by a powerful header from Park Jongbum, who directed the ball towards Ma Shaghoon to nod it into the net, making it 3:0 for BC Rangers. In the 69th minute, substitute Giovane received a pass from Kanda Yumemi inside the penalty area and attempted a left-footed shot, but the goalkeeper made a remarkable one-handed save to deny him. Finally, BC Rangers held on to their 3:0 victory until the final whistle, securing all three points and climbing up to fourth place in the league standings.
