The “Jockey Club Youth Football Development Programme – Summer Scheme 2023” is organised by The Football Association of Hong Kong, China (HKFA), funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust as its Major Partner, and subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD). This large-scale youth football development programme welcomes the participation of children and teenagers from all over Hong Kong every summer. It aims to cultivate their interest in the sport and nurture their talents through the teaching of basic football knowledge and providing practical experience.
The “Jockey Club Youth Football Development Programme – Summer Scheme 2023” is organised by The Football Association of Hong Kong, China (HKFA), funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust as its Major Partner, and subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD). This large-scale youth football development programme welcomes the participation of children and teenagers from all over Hong Kong every summer. It aims to cultivate their interest in the sport and nurture their talents through the teaching of basic football knowledge and providing practical experience.
The programme will provide football training in July and August for about 10,000 local youngsters aged 3 to 16, including four practical training sessions and two days of mini-competitions, to learn and practice their footballing skills. Moreover, the HKFA will continue to offer its parent-and-child course, which was highly popular last year, by providing four practical classes for children aged 3 to 7 and their parents. For the programme’s goalkeeping course, four practical classes will be provided for students aged 10 to 15. In addition this year there will be a new siblings course, where siblings aged 4 to 12 can participate together in four practical classes and two days of mini competitions.
HKFA Technical Director Mr. Carlos Anton said: “The Summer Scheme funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust is one of the key projects of local football development and one of the most popular summer activities among children and parents. Once again, we thank The Hong Kong Jockey Club and Leisure and Cultural Services Department for their support. We hope that children participating in the Scheme will have a fulfilling summer holiday, and enhance their knowledge and interests in football through the classes and match experiences.”
The Summer Scheme will run from mid-July to the end of August. The enrolment period will start at 11am on May 29 and close at 11.59pm on June 23.
