Less than four minutes into the game, Grace Citizen’s Li Hau Yi unloaded from the right flank but were denied by Shatin goalkeeper Wong Lok Man.
On the other end, Shatin duly took the lead, as Ma Hiu Wai Nick’s long ball found teammate Wong So Han. The latter cut into the middle, beat Grace Citizen goalkeeper Lung Wing Yan to the ball and fired it home, putting Shatin in front 1:0.
A few minutes later, Grace Citizen’s Kwan Wing Yu floated a teasing cross towards the middle. Wong Ka Man let rip from the front post but sent the ball wide.
Late in the first half, Grace Citizen had solid chances to draw level, yet Kwan Wing Yu’s shot was denied by Shatin goalkeeper Wong Lok Man, while Kwok Ching Man’s header sailed over the crossbar. Shatin was leading 1:0 at the interval.
Grace Citizen managed to equalize on the 56th minute. Chan Hiu Man’s forward pass found teammate Kwok Ching Man. The Grace Citizen veteran showed great composure and fired a right footer that found the back of the net. The game was now tied at 1:1.
Late in the game, Shatin had a superb chance to grab the lead once again. On the 80th minute, Chan Wing Sze picked up the ball and found teammate Wong So Han. Wong chested down the ball and pulled the trigger, only to miss hitting the target.
Both sides failed to add to the score in the remaining regulation, as Shatin and Grace Citizen shook hands on a well fought 1:1 draw.
