Jockey Club Women's Youth Football League (U18) top-of-the-table clash took place in Jockey Club HKFA Football Training Centre on last Tuesday evening. Chu Po Yan’s goal settled things on the evening, as Grace Citizen edged HKFC by 1:0.

Sitting at the top of the table, Grace Citizen took the game towards HKFC early in the game, yet Chu Po Yan failed to hit the target with her shot.

Moments later, HKFC Colpaert Anna Jeongmin unloaded a left-footer towards the Grace Citizen net but could not trouble Sin Ching Fei.

HKFC had a glorious chance to take the lead on the half hour mark, as Pryke Jasmine Charlotte Elizabeth was brought down by a Grace Citizen player inside the penalty area. The referee quickly pointed to the penalty spot and awarded HKFC with a spot-kick. Pryke Jasmine Charlotte Elizabeth took the penalty-kick but blasted the ball high.

Grace Citizen pulled in front late in the first half, as Chu Po Yan picked up the ball through a teammate’s forward pass, buried a left-footer and found the back of the net. Grace Citizen was leading 1:0 at half time.

Early in the second half, Grace Citizen had a decent chance to double its lead, yet Wong Tsz Kiu’s shot was denied by the HKFC goalkeeper.

Late in the game, HKFC had a glorious chance to tie the game, as Tien Scarlet Grace broke behind the Grace Citizen defense, dodged the opposing keeper and fired the ball towards the empty net, only to send it wide off target.

The score stood towards the final whistle, as Grace Citizen edged HKFC by 1:0 on the evening.
