Wofoo Tai Po wasted little time after the opening whistle and immediately tested the Sham Shui Po defense. On the 3rd minute, Wofoo Tai Po’s Lee Ka-ho delivered a well-placed corner-kick into the Sham Shui Po penalty area. Gabriel Cividini launched a leaping header towards the net but sent the ball over the crossbar.
On the 12th minute, Wofoo Tai Po came close once again. This time, Joao Emir dished out a superb forward pass and picked out teammate Naveed. The latter unleashed a lob-shot but could not hit the target with his effort.
A few minutes, it was Sham Shui Po’s turn, as Chen Hao’s delivery sent teammate Chu Wai-kwan into the Wofoo Tai Po box. The towering striker cut back towards the middle and fired away, only to be stopped by Wofoo Tai Po goalkeeper Tse Ka-wing.
After a flurry of hotly contested action, the first half eventually wrapped up with both teams locked in a goalless draw.
Both sides made personnel changes at half-time, hoping to break the game open in the second half.
On the 69th minute, Wofoo Tai Po’s Cheng Tsz-sum belted a dangerous shot from the flank, only to fire the ball over the Sham Shui Po crossbar.
It was still Wofoo Tai Po afterwards. On the 81st minute, Lee Ka-ho pushed forward with the ball and eventually reached the top of the box. Lee pulled the trigger on a thunderous shot but was brilliantly turned away by Wong Tsz-chung in the Sham Shui Po goal.
On the 84th minute, Sham Shui Po nearly broke the game open. Kwon Jaekyeong broke loose outside the Wofoo Tai Po box and fired away, yet Kwon’s shot took a deflection off a player and stayed away from the opposing goal. Tang Tsz-kwan went for the rebound but drilled the ball wide.
The score stood towards the final whistle, as Wofoo Tai Po and Sham Shui Po shook hands on a 0:0 draw.
