Powered by a series of stellar performances to start the new BOC Life Hong Kong Premier League campaign, Eastern Long Lions forward Alessandro Leonardo was handed the BOC Life Hong Kong Premier League MVP honor (October and November 2020), co-chosen by The Football Association of Hong Kong, China and the Hong Kong Sports Press Association.

Ever since joining Eastern Long Lions midway last season, Leonardo has found himself in steady scoring form, as the lanky striker builds up a superb partnership with fellow strikers Lucas Da Silva and Everton Camargo, supplying Eastern Long Lions with an endless stream of goals.

As a matter of fact, the formidable trio have contributed eighteen goals from seven league and cup games for the Blues so far this season, mounting to a whopping 78.3% of Eastern Long Lions entire goal-production so far. Not surprisingly, Leonardo also leads the team in scoring with eight goals.

On an interesting note, Leonardo’s eight goals so far this season amounts to 34.8% of Eastern Long Lions’ goal-production so far this season. The striker’s goal-total is also the highest amongst leading premier league forwards, proving the striker is indeed enjoying a red-hot spell in front of opposing goals.

Having appeared in seven league and cup fixtures for Eastern Long Lions and scoring eight times in the current campaign, the only occasion that Leonardo had failed to hit the scoreboard was Eastern Long Lions’ Sapling Cup fixture against R.C.F.C., leading to a 1.14 goals-per-game average for the veteran marksman. The number tops all leading strikers in the premier league circuit, another testament to Leonardo’s scorching form to start the new campaign.
