Without a doubt, Kwoon Chung Southern forward James Ha had enjoyed one of the most memorable February in his playing career, as the fleet-footed striker netted five goals from four games in the month, eventually named as the winner of the Hong Kong Premier League MVP trophy (February, 2019), co-handed out by The Football Association of Hong Kong, China and the Hong Kong Sports Press Association.
When approached by the HKFA and informed about being named as the MVP of February, Ha was in obviously delight and revealed the trophy is going to spur him on to achieve bigger and better things down the road.
“Obviously, collecting the trophy is a great feeling,” Ha said.
“It is a great reward for me from all the hard work that I have done in training and inside the gym. This is my second HKPL Monthly MVP award in my professional football career, which means even more to me. I will keep up with the positive spirit and keep working hard in training.”
As one of the hottest premier league players in the circuit and banging in goals from left, right and center throughout February, Ha was quite an obvious choice for the monthly MVP award. The Kwoon Chung Southern striker humbly agrees with the assessment but insists his sizzling form is a byproduct of Kwoon Chung Southern’s exceptional hard work.
“I feel like my form is always dependent on my teammates,” expressed the humble, yet self-confident Kwoon Chung Southern goal-machine.
“My teammate supports me in every game and gives me a comfortable environment to train every single day. I would say the main source of confidence that I possess stems from my teammates, coaches and the Kwoon Chung Southern management team.
With only four rounds of Hong Kong Premier League fixtures left, Kwoon Chung Southern finds itself within striking distance to the summit of the premier league table. Ha believes the team has never been so close to claiming its first ever top-flight league title.
“We are on the final stretch of the road and I am sure our winning chances are no greater or less than Kitchee, Wofoo Tai Po and R&F, who are up there with us in the premier league table. My only hope is that every teammate’s form peaks at the last few league games, as this is literally Kwoon Chung Southern’s best ever chance to win the premier league title.”
