The annual Top Footballer Voting is once again fast-approaching.

What makes this season's voting campaign truly unique is the fact that selected Hong Kong Premier League players will each nominate one character from the extremely popular Mr. Men Little Miss cartoon series to represent himself in the voting campaign.

BC Rangers' speedster Tommy Chuck chose Little Miss Splendid to represent himself in the Top Footballer Voting Award. The local talent spoke about the reasons behind his decision. “The reason that I picked Little Miss Splendid is quite obvious. As a footballer, you always want to be the best and the one who catches fans' attention. While this might sound arrogant to some people, as an athlete, that is what I believe in,”said the BC Rangers danger man.

"Take the FC Ryukyu exhibition game as an example. A lot of fans came to the stadium for that game and scoring in that kind of atmosphere really motivates me to push myself for improvements. In terms of the Top Footballer Award for this season, Eastern's Xu Deshuai stands a really good chance in my eyes, as he has been scoring for Hong Kong and his club, as well as turning out assists consistently. What a season he has been having!”

Yuen Long full-back Chan Hin-kwong has been steadily patrolling the left-flank for the district side this season. The extremely calm defender has enlisted the help of Mr. Quiet for his Top Footballer Award promotion campaign. “I picked Mr. Quiet immediately because like myself, he does not speak much. The character and myself share a lot of similarities so hopefully, when fans see Mr. Quiet, they will immediately think of me,”voiced the Yuen Long full-back.

“On the pitch, I thought I have done better this season than last season, especially on the defensive side of things. However, I also want to perform better offensively and help Yuen Long to achieve better results. After all, you need your team to do well to receive people's acknowledgement in a voting like the Top Footballer Award.”

Hong Kong Pegasus centre-back Leung Nok-hang has been playing with his elder brother Leung Kwun-chung for a long time. The younger Leung believes Little Miss Twins will help fans to remember him more easily. “Little Miss Twins are just like me and my brother. When you see the characters, I am sure you will think of us. Hence, I think they are the perfect representatives for me in the promotion campaign,” Leung said with a smile. “A lot of people share the very same dream of playing together with their siblings, I am truly very lucky to be able to do that from club level all the way up to international level.” 

Eastern defender Wong Chi-chung is happy to receive the support from Little Miss Scary in the Top Footballer Award promotional campaign. “I really like the mischievous and tough Little Miss Scary. As a defender you always need to be tough on the pitch and stay fighting until the very last whistle,” offered the veteran. “As far as my own performance goes, I set up the goal of trying to battle for as much playing time as possible before the start of the season and I think I have somewhat achieved that.”

“Regarding my personal favourite for the Top Football Award, I am going to go for my teammate Diego Moreira. The fella has been transformed by our head coach Chan Yuen-ting this season. Besides playing very sound defense as always, he has also shouldered more attacking responsibilities up front and scoring for fun. What a season he is enjoying!”
