Following an intense penalty shootout, Lucky Mile outplayed Major League Football Academy with a score of 5:4, thus securing their spot in the coveted finals.
The match kicked off with both teams struggling to build any significant offensive momentum. Lucky Mile knocked on their opponent’s door first with Jakeway Ava-rose fired a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, only to be denied by a stunning save from the Big League's goalkeeper, Pong Danielle, at the 5-minute mark. Lucky Mile continued to press forward and at the 13-minute mark, Winmill Charlotte Elizabeth May managed to evade her marker and unleashed a long-range effort, which was comfortably gathered by the keeper. Then Winmill Charlotte Elizabeth May's ambitious attempt from outside the box failed to hit the target.
Major League Football Academy, on the back foot for most of the first quarter, carved out a golden opportunity in the 24th minute. Turner Liora threaded a sublime through ball to Bannon Olivia, whose acute-angled shot in the box was brilliantly parried away by Lucky Mile's goalkeeper, Ng Tsz Ling Trinity. Lucky Mile retaliated within three minutes, with Cheng Reina Ming Yee latching onto a long pass and finding herself one-on-one with the goalkeeper. However, her shot lacked the necessary power and was easily collected by the goalkeeper. Lucky Mile gradually asserted their dominance in the game, with Moi Lei Ngai's direct free kick narrowly missing the target, and her later right-footed long-range effort being thwarted by the keeper. The first half concluded with a goalless draw.
The second half saw both teams ramping up their attacking intent. At the 43-minute mark, Major League Football Academy's Cohen Riley executed a close-range shot after connecting with Bannon Olivia's corner from the left but was just gone wide. At the 48-minute mark, Lucky Mile's Moi Lei Ngai surprised everyone with a sudden long-range strike from the right, which agonizingly ricocheted off the post. A minute later, the ever-lively Moi Lei Ngai had another chance to score, but her shot was once again saved by the goalkeeper, Pong Danielle.
Despite being on the ropes, Major League Football Academy managed to break the stalemate at the 62-minute mark. Bannon Olivia's precise free kick into the box was not effectively cleared by Lucky Mile's defense, allowing Faulknall Clare Olivia to seize the opportunity and slot home, giving Major League Football Academy a 1:0 lead. Trailing, Lucky Mile immediately tried to mount a comeback. Moi Lei Ngai's potent strike from the edge of the penalty area was saved by the keeper, and Kim Aone's narrow-angled shot from the right side of the box narrowly missed the target.
In a dramatic twist, Lucky Mile leveled the score just before the final whistle. Moi Lei Ngai's direct free kick from the center found the back of the net, resulting in a 1:1 draw at the end of regular play.
The match proceeded to a penalty shootout, where Lucky Mile showcased their nerves of steel, netting all five attempts.
