HKFC met up with Crownity North District in HK Football Club Ground on Sunday afternoon for the 2024-25 Boc Life Hong Kong Premier League clash. HKFC beat Crownity North District by 2:0.

The hosts came out firing, with Gustavo Henrique threading a sublime through ball just three minutes in. Chen Hao latched onto it, but his right-footed effort was parried behind by the keeper.

HKFC broke the deadlock in the 13th minute. Gustavo Henrique, fed by Bradley Leung, was upended in the box. The referee pointed to the spot, and Daniel Scally coolly slotted home to make it 1:0.

The lead was doubled five minutes later. Daniel Scally's corner from the left was met by Andrew Russell, whose header squeezed past the keeper despite his best efforts.

Crownity North District's first real chance came in the 26th minute. Khan Jahangir whipped in a cross from the left, but Kiranbir Singh's left-footed strike was tipped behind.

The hosts threatened again before the break, with Callum Beattie's free-kick from the edge of the area acrobatically saved. HKFC went into half-time with a two-goal cushion.

After the restart, HKFC continued to press. Daniel Scally's free-kick was gathered by the keeper, before his long-range effort from Lee Chun Yin Ryan's pass failed to trouble the goalkeeper.

The away side rallied, with Lo Kong Wai cutting in from the right on 61 minutes, but his left-footed attempt flashed just wide.

Ho Chun Ting then tried his luck from distance in the 75th minute, but the keeper was equal to it.

Crownity North District were handed a lifeline when Wong Wai Kwok was felled in the area after Matheus Soares' pass. However, Matheus Soares blazed the resulting spot-kick over the bar.

In the dying moments, Constancio Guilherme found Lo Kong Wai, who couldn't pull the trigger. The ball fell to Matheus Soares, but his effort was dramatically cleared off the line by Jack Sealy. HKFC held firm to secure a 2:0 triumph, claiming their maiden win of the campaign and a vital three points.
